Resources for the Trailblazers
These resources that we have compiled here are perfect for our trailblazers! The Joslin Diabetes Center, diaTribe, and MedicAlert are some of our favorite sites to keep us informed and up to date!
The Joslin Diabetes Center has an abundance of information relating to the diagnosis of diabetes, what to do once diagnosed, and how to make your explorer feel more at ease. There's information for the school nurse, parents, and caregivers. Most of the information is research related, but divides it into smaller pieces for everybody to understand.
The diaTribe website keeps us up to date and informed on everything that is changing or developing with diabetes. If you sign up for emails they will send one every week with new products, advice, and research.
Finally, the medicAlert website. Every diabetic should be equiped with a medical alert bracelet and this website has the best and the most options. The medical alert bracelets or necklaces that they have can include an option for an emergency. If you choose to include that option they can actually alert the EMS of your location and your health record! A step forward into a faster response.
We encourage our parents to take a small amount of time to scout these websites to learn a little bit more about diabetes and how to keep your children safe!
Welcome, parents! Here we've compiled some helpful resources!
